Things to do this New Year’s Eve In NYC That Isn’t Times Square

When you think of ringing in the new year in New York City, it’s likely that cramming yourself into the crowd in Times Square, waiting to watch the ball fall at midnight, comes to mind.

While this is a great, and popular way to celebrate the holiday, you may be looking for something a little more off the beaten path. If you want to have a great time this New Year’s Eve without the major crowds, check out these 5 things to do.

BangOn! NYC Time & Space Event

While you won’t know exactly where in the city this expansive event is taking place until the last minute, it promises to be big fun. Starting at 9 p.m., guests can expect to be entertained by fire- breathers, aerialists, zip-line performances, and a silent disco.

Celebrating the new year doesn’t have to be all indulgence and partying. If you’re a fitness enthusiast, you can join the New York Road Runners for a 4-mile run that kicks off at midnight following a group countdown to the new year.
